Father's Day-Always smiling. :)

For Father's Day we didn't do much of anything. Heidi and I took daddy out to eat. Went to a restaurant called Jaker's Grill & Bar. It's a nice fancy place to treat daddy. The restaurant was also offering 2 for 1 drinks.

Daddy had a good time in Atlanta for his business trip. He met a few people and was able to see some old friends from Wisconsin that came to the ANS trip. He brought back a peach colored bear for Heidi, that says "Georgia" on it and a has a peach on it.
Heidi has been doing well. She's so active during the day and she's smiling so much now. It looks like she always wants to try laugh or say something. She's having so much fun with tummy time and she does lots of babbling.

Nursery Rhymes

I have to wonder about some nursery rhymes. I read this one in a book I got and I always thought they ended in sweet endings and not in something that would land someone in the doctor's office. It's funny now that we have a child, I listen more closely to the nursery rhymes we all grew up with.

Goosey, Goosey, Gander

Goosey, Goosey, Gander
Whither shall I wander?
Upstairs and downstairs.
And in my lady's chamber.

There I met an old man,
Who wouldn't say his prayers.
I took him by the left leg.
And threw him down the stairs.

I really like two that I found.

Mathew, Mark, Luke and John

Mathew, Mark, Luke and John.
Bless the bed that I lie on.
Four corners to my bed.
Four angels 'round my head.
One to watch and one to pray
And two to guide me through my day.

I See the Moon

I See the Moon
And the moon sees me.
God Bless the moon
And god bless me.

Celebrating Daddy's Birthday.

Heidi wanted to stay in her Kitty Towel. She was mad when I took her out.
Always smiling now.
Looking at daddy while playing with her Tiger.
Helping daddy open his gifts.

We celebrated Brian's birthday on Saturday since he will be leaving for Atlanta for a few days for work. We are going to miss him while he's gone (especially mommy). It's going to be tough while he's gone with work. We are both going to be so tired but we'll make it through. We just expect a nice souveniour when he gets back. :)

Today we had some friends over for the afternoon for a BBQ. I made kabobs, corn on the cob, banana cream cheesecake pie, and some fruit. It was a nice afternoon to visit and the kabobs were so good. I marinated the beef overnight with KC Masterpiece Mesquite and then the chicken kabobs with the Tastefully Simple Sweet & Sassy Sangria. Ooohh were they good and they all went fast!

Heidi has been so funny lately. She's quite the active little one. She hardly wants to sleep all day and she gets so cranky because she's so tired but she just wants to stay awake to look around. She loves looking at ceiling fans. I had the fan on the other day and she looked like she was in a transe. When I turned the ceiling fan off she giggled so loud and had the biggest smile. She looked around at other objects she could find and then when I turned the fan back on, she looked up and didn't move. She just loves it. It's almost a game with her. It's so cute.

Heidi is doing a little better each day when she's at the sitter's house. She had to go for a car ride with Pam to her foster daughter's appointment last thursday. Pam said she did great and when they stopped at Taco Bell for lunch, she started to fuss, but then pam's grandson, Tyler, kept telling Heidi "oh little one, it's ok, you're to cute to cry." Tyler adores Heidi and he's always talking to her and wants to see her when I walk in the door each morning. Pam said Tyler kept telling her to get Heidi when she would just move a little while sleeping or make a little noise when she's getting comfortable because he thought she was upset. Tyler kept telling pam "she needs you grandma, she needs you. She's not happy." It's so cute.

"Soooo Big." Heidi loves that game.

I think Heidi is dancing the "macarena"
I like the little pink dress for her.
A little tummy time.
Hey there little sweetie!
What a rough day. "Turn the light off!"
Daddy and Heidi taking a long nap after a long day.
Such beautiful big eyes!
Lady bug outfit with lady bug feet. Ooooh.
A new pal mom got me.
Here are some new updated pics of Heidi. She just keeps getting more and more cute each day. She has the biggest eyelashes now and her eyes are still blue. I think her hair is getting lighter also.

Well, brian and I met with a lady to watch Heidi and she's absolutly wonderful. Her name is Pam and she's a grandma. She watches her 4 year grandson who will be going to school soon and then she will be just watching Heidi during the day later on. After meeting with Pam and getting to know her, she is also from N.D! Pam and her husband are from Minot and then they moved to Billings and then finally settled down in Idaho Falls. Wierd Huh??? I guess we were just meant to be or were meant to meet with each other. Her grandson,Tyler, reminds me so much of Torii. He's just wild and loves to keep talking. He always has something to say. Brian even asked me when we left her house, "do you see Torii in him?"
The day I had to drop off Heidi for the first time, killed me. Heidi started to cry before I had to leave and Pam just told me to go and not to worry. Pam said she will be plenty spoiled and she'll be ok. I still called to check in . I couldn't concentrate at work, I was a nervous wreck. I left work early to go pick her up. Ridiculous huh? Everyone, even pam, thinks she looks like a little bird. She sort of does when she's playing. It's so cute.

I have been a little frustrated with work lately. My schedule keeps changing and it's driving me insane! The front desk is short handed and I am helping out, during the evenings, days, middle shifts and so on. I told my boss today that I need a regular schedule or I need to go part time until I can get a set schedule again. I can't keep bouncing around now that I have Heidi. I need to have her on a schedule and myself, or poor Heidi will be so sleep deprived and will never know the time of day. Anyway, I think we are getting it worked out and it will get better.

Brian is leaving on Sunday for Atlanta for his conferance where he will be making his speech about "Fabrication of a Tungsten frozen pebble bed element utilizing spark plasma sintering." Did anyone understand that? That's just the title of his speech and I listened to it the other night. Not so bad. I didn't understand some of it but I'm slowly getting it. :) Brian will be gone for 4 nights. Its going to be a rough week for Heidi and I. Ugh. I can't wait for him to be home and his trip will be over. This saturday we will celebrate his birthday and I'm going to make a cake, and some Teriyake Kabobs on the grill. It should be fun. Well, enjoy the new pictures and I will end this blog with a short video of Heidi and her musical worm that I found at walmart for only $3.00! It's not a glow worm like she was with her belly light but close enough.

Back to work.

I can't believe my 6 weeks of maternity leave is over! It's been wonderful having that time off of work and now it's really hard to go back to work.

We had so much fun being home and it was a great feeling to have as many people for Heidi to meet and I can't wait to go back home again. I think Heidi is still trying to get into a routine becuase she's been getting her nights mixed up often and it's been hard for her. We are getting better and she still sleeps well. She's actually almost sleeping through the nights now. It's really weird to have her sleep so long sometimes. I still wake up wondering if Brian has her or to make sure she's ok.

Heidi is loving her baths now and I think her favorite part is when she gets wrapped up in her Kitty towel. I had wrapped up in the kitty towel yesturday morning and then put a new outfit on her while she was playing with a corner of the towel; I picked her up and then she started to cry. I put her back down and wrapped her up and she made the funniest babble sound. I picked her up with kitty towel and she was sound asleep. I think she has a 'pal' already. She will get mad if I take off that towel sometimes. I think she loves the feel of it and it's so warm and comfortable. It's really cute, so next time I will get in on video to post.

Well, now that we are back to work, it's been tough to get our schedules in order and it's been getting really stressful for me. I am so busy at work and my boss expects me to there all of this week including this weekend. I had to work last night until 11pm and then I was up with Heidi until 4am. I had to be into work in the morning and that didn't happen. I called work and said don't expect me in before noon. Ha ha! I really didn't care at this point if they were mad or not. It's really hard to get back into it at work, it's like starting all over again and I was thrown onto a night shift with no help and a sold out hotel. I was not happy. But I told Brian that if he helps me out this week to watch Heidi as much as he can so I can be at work to get caught up and get things done, then he can go to Beerfest this weekend with the guys. (he's excited, because he forgot about it.) Brian wants me to go but the thought of beer doesn't appeal to me that much anymore after 9 months without beer, wine, and caffiene. It just doesn't sound fun.

Brian and I are still looking for someone to help watch Heidi for a few hours during the week while we are work. I have alot of reply's about the position but mostly daycare's and mom's with 3-5 kids they watch. This is NOT what I want. I am looking for someone more specific. I want one on one attention to our little girl and someone who can just give her love all day. I then recieved and email from a lady who wanted me to call her mom. Her mother watches her 4 year old son and would love to watch heidi also. Her son will be going to school soon, so it would just be Heidi later on that she would be watching. Wow, this is who I need, a grandma. I have been so hesitant to call people all week, because of my fear of someone I just don't know personally. I finally convinced myself to just pick up the phone and call her already! I talked to her today and she sounds so nice. Her name is Pam and we will meet her this weekend. Pam has done foster care before, besides their biological kids and now she is watching her daughter's son during the day while her daughter is going back to school. I can't wait to meet her and we will meet with her a few times to get to know her and so Heidi can get to know some new surroundings. I thought Brian would be more protective of her, but I find myself being over protective and I think I sometimes annoy the daddy. I think Heidi is going to be a very spoiled baby.
